In the last chapter, Gerald and Cornell met their baby sister, Guy got more acquainted with his new family, and Pocahontas was thinking of ideas for Cindy and her kids birthdays.
Today is Cindy’s birthday!
And just like on all birthdays they all start with a cake, which Pocahontas is making while Cindy is at work.
I’m getting good at this.
Well I have done 3 birthday cakes.
And now 4! Finished.
In between baking a cake Pocahontas has to take care of baby Anastasia.
“Is my beautiful baby hungry?” Pocahontas asks the baby.
“There you go.” She gives her the bottle.
“Aren’t you so hungry?” She asks rhetorically.
“Now my Anastasia, is so nice and fed.” Pocahontas acknowledges. Beautiful. I still can’t believe I finally got my baby girl.
Tykayla is practicing her jokes on the Microphone.
Hmm… I’ll try this.
How many squirrels does it take to screw in a light bulb?
No that’s not funny at all.
Cornell and Gerald eat together on their day off from school.
“Cornell, you know you smell really bad.” Gerald tells him.
“So?” Cornell replies.
“Well don’t you think you need a bath?” Gerald asks.
“Who cares if boys don’t take baths?” Cornell answers. “Unless you’re a goody goody like you. I’ll do it later and don’t say anything about the ladies.”
Gerald looks confused, chewing his food. “Who are the ladies?”
Pocahontas is now outside on a mission.
This spot is perfect. She thinks.
I could move the observatory here.
She will love it.
Meanwhile, Erin and Guy chat.
“I see someone is getting along swimmingly with his new family.” Erin says.
“And I see someone is getting along even better with her future sister in law.” Guy replies.
Erin laughs. “Just stop it. Did you hear yourself?”
“Well it was worth a try.” Guy shakes his head.
“Did you at least show some interest in getting to know her?” Guy asks.
“Uhh…” She hesitates. “Define interest.”
“Come on, Erin.” He encourages. “You must try.”
“Yeah.” Erin says. “When pigs fly. Hey, that rhymes.”
Francesca has been writing so much she began to have a crank in her neck.
Aden reads Francesca’s sad book Orphan Song outside in the pool.
This is so sad. Why didn’t she just stay at the Orphanage?
Andy wakes up from sleeping his afternoon away, to the cries of baby Anastasia.
“What is that noise?”
“Oh is that my baby girl?” He asks when it finally registered what the noise actually was.
“Hey daddy’s baby girl, did you cry for me?” Andy asks picking up baby Anastasia.
“You just wanted attention, you spoiled girl.” Andy says.
She’s just so beautiful.
“Do you want daddy to tickle your tummy?” Andy asks as he tickles her.
“You know you’re birthday’s coming up right?” Andy tells the baby.
“Daddy doesn’t want you to grow up. He wants you to be his little baby forever.” He expresses.
“Can you do that for daddy huh? Can you never grow up?” Andy asks an impossible question.
“If only you could my Anastasia.” He kisses her.
“Anastasia, I love you very much.” He tells her as he places her back into her bassinet.
After a few hours, Pocahontas is finally finished.
Well done, Pocahontas. Pocahontas thinks confidently.
*Cindy might like the cake but she’ll be in love with her Greenhouse.
Excellent. Pocahontas thinks. I think she’s home right about now. Just in time too.
Pocahontas goes inside to meet Cindy.
“Pocahontas what is all this?” Cindy asks.
“Surprise. It’s just a cake, every birthday needs a cake, no matter how small…: Pocahontas replies. “…or big” she whispers.
“What was that last part again?” Cindy asks.
“Oh nothing Cindy, you are being completely paranoid.” Pocahontas expresses. “Just say thank you.”
“Well, I thank you Pocahontas.” She goes to hug her. “For the cake.”
“Of course.” Pocahontas says. That’s not the only thing you’ll be thanking me for. “Now go blow out the candles.”
Cindy goes to blow out her candles…
and then ages up to an adult.
Pocahontas calls her to come here. “Ok I may have something else for you.”
“Pocahontas, you can’t be serious.” Cindy says.
“I am. So I need you to go outside.” Pocahontas says cheerfully.
“Outside, what-” Cindy starts.
“Before you say anything just come outside with me.” Pocahontas says as she starts to leave out the house.
When they reach the backyard, Cindy is so thrilled.
“Oh My Gosh, Pocahontas!” She excites. “This is freaking incredible.”
“The greenhouse is completely beautiful in every way.” She continues.
“Thank you, I designed it myself.” Pocahontas says.
“How long did it take you to design this?” Cindy asks.
“That’s not for you to worry about, Cindy.” Pocahontas answers. “Now go ahead and take a look.”
Cindy is so happy she forgot about how she said she wanted no presents.
She walks into the greenhouse with a smile on her face, speechless.
“Wow.” Cindy expresses.
“I placed all of the plants you had outside inside the greenhouse so you won’t have to start over your garden.” Pocahontas tells. “How you like?”
“It’s completely breathtaking.” Cindy says.
“Pocahontas, thank you so much for this. I couldn’t even imagine how much time and money was spent on this, just for me. I love you.” She hugs Pocahontas again.
“I love you too.” Pocahontas replies. “I’m really glad you like it.”
“You do deserve it after all.” Pocahontas assures. “You put your heart and soul into this garden and now it has it’s own place to shine.”
Cindy looks around. “Cinderella would have loved this.”
“Yes she would have.” Pocahontas agrees. “But it’s up to you to enjoy it. I did create it for you after all.”
The next morning Pocahontas wakes up and eats a hot dog.
I’m really glad Cindy enjoyed her birthday gift from me.
It’s what Cinderella would have wanted for sure.
Now it’s Cornell and Anastasia’s turn.
